The video helps me to understand the stroy because it helps you visually see the surroundings and what the "path" truely looks like. I would definitely do something like Pheonix did for her grandson. If I really cared about the person I would go out of my way to try to make them feel better also.

ReplyDeleteThe video makes certain things more obvious compared to when you're reading the story. For example in the text you actually believe that you're seeing a man at first when in the field. However in the movie it's clear that the figure is not a man and the old woman is just seeing things in her head.
Yes I would do something like for someone I loved too, because if I were in the grandson's shoes I would of course want someone to bring me medicine.
The video put everything into a more realistic perspective. Yes, i would do something like this for someone that i greatly cared about because i would expect them to do the exact same thing for me if i was in a needy situation.

ReplyDeleteI would do the same a Phoenix for someone I truly loved. As she said in the story, her grandson was all she had in the world and she would do anything to soothe his pain. If it meant saving something I cared for, no distance would keep me from helping.
The video helped me understand the story a lot better. When first reading the story it was harder to visualize what the scenery would look like, how the characters would look or act, or how long and difficult her trip really was.

After seeing this clip, I can get a feel of the surroundings and characters in the story. The distance she traveled was greater than one would actually think when reading just the text.
ReplyDeleteI would, without a doubt, did what Phoenix did. No matter if it is a love one or a stranger, I would do whatever to not make them suffer. Seeing a smile in their face makes me smile!
I honestly didn't fully understand the whole story line when reading this story in the readers book but now after watching this short film, I have a better understanding. I find things more understandable when I have the actual visual. I would most definitely find my way to help those who I loved whether it be travling miles on foot or doing whatever I had to. It's all about the car e and love for others.

ReplyDeleteThe video helps me to truly understand the hardships of her journey to get to town through the woods. It also helps to make certain parts in the story more easy to hear and visualize, such as the dialect and the time period.
If someone that I loved and cared about with all my heart needed that medicine, I would go through anything in order to get it to that special someone, just like Phoenix.
This video shows what Pheonix had to go through and the true age of Pheonix.

The video helps you understand the story better by giving you a picture to look at and now you can see the characters interact with one another instead of visualizing it while you're reading the story, you get a better understanding when you read the story and then watch the movie because you already know what is going to happen in the video but you can see more clearly what the author was trying to make you visualize.

Yes I would absolutely do something like Phoenix did for her grandson. If I had a friend or family member that needed my help I would do whatever it would take to help them, because I care about them.
By watching the video of "A Worn Path", It helped me cath on to things I didn't notice whie reading the story. I now vizualize the characters, setting, and most importantly the time period. I now see the "worn path" not just as a pathway through the woods to get to town, but the struggle and pain Phoneix goes through to help her grandson. The jourey to me would be more than worth it if it was to help someone in need.

ReplyDeleteThe video clarified the parts that I didn't understand reading the story. I didn't know if the dog attacked a man or what, and this helped me understand. Phoenix is a very strong and determined person to support her grandson like she does, and I would do exactly the same thing she did for a family member.

This video helps me understand the story better by showing me these written characteristics come alive by an actor. The seemingly thoughtless actions like talking to oneself and non-human things that elderly people show is perfectly represented as it was told in the story. Her age, weakness, and mental strength are much more evident in this video. The prejudice can be seen first hand and makes this story much more believable and interpretable.

I would most certainly do something like what Pheonix is doing. If i had a family, friend, or a loved one then i would do whatever i could to help them get better. Mainly because i would want them to return the favor when im in that situation.
Watching the video, I was able to vizualize things the story could not show me. I would do such a thing for a loved one, I would go to any length becasue I would want them to be well.

The video helps me understand the surroundings more. While reading it in class, I had imagined it much different than how it was portrayed in the video. I also never realized exactly how old the woman was and how much trouble it was for her to go to town from her house. If I had a grandson, I would definitely do any thing I could to help him, even if it meant hiking through the woods in my old age and stealing from people.

The setting, the mood, and the character representation are excellent to properly imagine the story. It helps the understanding because certain actions are difficult to put to words and seeing it be acted out solidifies it.
It depends on how much I care for the person, but if they were really important to me, I would do as much as I possibly could for them.

The movie added detail to the text. I did not picture Phoenix looking the way she appeared in the movie. The movie gave the viewer a in depth detail of the story. The story allows the reader to view the situation and the characters any way they want. I would do the same thing thar Phoenix did depending on who the person was. I would have to like them. ReplyDeleteWhen reading the book it was easy to understand the main plot of why Poenix was traveling into town. This video just made things easier to understand. For example when Phoenix is in the fields, and sees a "man", the video actually explains that the figure is a scare crow. Little details like that, are not as easily portrayed.

the video goes by in a more comprehensible way where you can hear and see the tone of the story. it also shows Phoenix's age so it puts it into perspective how hard the journey is but that she makes it anyway out of love for her grandson who would die without her edfforts and love.

well i thought the story it self was a good representation of how far someone would go for their loved one. this video doesnt really help understand the story any better, because one the video quality is horrible and the two the actors are below average actors to me. if it was a rando person i probably wouldnt help them thats me. but if someone i knew well was in trouble i tried to help them to the best of my abilities.

This video cleared up any misunderstanding there was during the reading. You can truly see the struggle she had journeying on the path. A visual is always useful when trying to understand something. If in the right scenario I would do the same as Phoenix had done for her grandson. Why? Because you shouldn't see someone struggle and not give a helping hand.
